When they run my passport, Vybz Kartel business comee up and everything. They are acting like I am involved in certain things and pure red lines come up on my documents at the airports. “Tommy Lee and Vybz Kartel have a long history, they have been very close friends for years so a lot of what has been reported in the media doesn’t accurately reflect their true relationship. “It’s something that’s been in the pipeline for a few weeks now because that’s how the system work, you have to book a visit way in advance, you can’t just show and expect to see someone,” a rep for the deejay told us. Kartel’s right hand man Sikka Rymes confirmed that he brought the “Soul Reaper” deejay to visit the Worl’Boss at GP yesterday and everything went smooth. “I feel like they put something on my name,” he said. We’re told that they spoke about the state of the music and catch up on old times. DancehallHipHop reached out to the Sparta deejay’s camp for a comment and was told that the meetup was in the works since last month. “Every time I try to travel, they treat me different, like I am some bomber. “They just sat down and chop it up like old times.” In an interview last September, Sparta spoke about his legal troubles and how his association with Vybz Kartel has caused him problems in his career. We’re told that Sean Kingston was the middleman who asked Kartel to make peace with Tommy Lee Sparta and then Rymes organized the visit. Tommy Lee Sparta finally visits Vybz Kartel in prison. Tommy has a lot of respect for Kartel who first brought him to the forefront of music.”
This marks the first time that Tommy Lee Sparta is visiting Vybz Kartel in prison since his incarceration in 2011. Related Posts

But his incarceration is not stopping him from going after Alkaline musically. Last year, the Vendetta deejay came under scrutiny from dancehall fans, particularly Vybz Kartel fans, who claimed that he has been paying to over-inflate his Vevo views. In one case, he clocked a million views in less than a week for his single “Suave” which went on to add millions more views in the weeks after. The track already sparked a heated debate on social media about who Alkaline is referring to when deejaying about taking out someone and their entire crew. Alkaline has addressed his critics who accused him of buying views on YouTube. In his new single “Mirage” Alkaline address his critics. It could be a number of people including Vybz Kartel, Popcaan, NotNice, Sean Kingston, Tommy Lee Sparta, and more, all of whom he has been beefing with. Kartel might be the only name you can exclude over the mere fact that he is behind bars. “In a league of my own, no am not your opponent, nothing me hate in a life like a snake or a f***** rodent, them can’t stop my show that a one thing me know… Them a say me numbers them too good, them a say me a buy views pon Vevo, okay then still a give them mayhem.”

Alkaline also address his enemies whom he say are actively sending the police after him and although he gets frustrated, he still manages to keep his cool and maintain his focus thanks to the council of his mother. “Mirage” is Alkaline’s first single since the start of the year and his Vendetta fans are basking in the moment because they have been waiting to hear what he has to say. The allegations comes after Alkaline racked up a number of views for some newly released music.
Like Vybz Kartel, X is facing some serious time behind bars if he is found guilty of the charges. “Vybz Kartel featuring XXXTentacion, coming soon, lol only the Jamaicans and Hispanics know what i’m talking about!” X wrote on IG stories. The difference here is that this announcement is coming directly from the artist and not some unnamed source tipping off the media. Last year XXXTentacion blast Drake for tapping into dancehall for his last two albums saying that he is way more Jamaican than Drake claims to be because his family is mostly from Kingston. XXXTentacion currently has a mountain of legal troubles and is currently under house arrest while he awaiting trial for kidnapping and assaulting a pregnant woman. Rappers wanting to collaborate with Vybz Kartel is nothing new and in fact, over the last few months, we’ve heard rumors of artists like Drake and Cardi B wanting to get the World Boss on a track. The South Florida rapper, who previously claimed he has some Jamaican roots, announced on Instagram last night that he has a collaboration coming out with the incarcerated dancehall star. In December, he was slapped with 15 new charges for tampering with a witness when he defied court orders and contacted his ex-girlfriend who is the victim in his case. Vybz Kartel is currently serving a life sentence for murder but is still putting out a ton of new music from behind bars. XXXTentacion and Vybz Kartel on the same track should be fire. There could be some truth to the story since X is from Lauderhill in South Florida where there is a strong Jamaican contingent. XXXTentacion worked with Sizzla Kalonji on his “My Girl” single last year, but if this new single materialized, it will be the first time the “Look At Me” rapper and Vybz Kartel are working together.

Alkaline Fans Roast Vybz Kartel After Getting BET Shout-out
Vybz Kartel Trolls Alkaline For Dissing Tony Matterhorn There are some rules for some categories in case you’re wondering why some artists didn’t get included for new categories like Album of the Year and Music Video Concept. The YVA has rebranded this year to Your View Award and the producers are promising a bigger and better show set for February 24. The Your View Award is already stirring up some controversies with a major snub to Vybz Kartel due to some changes in the eligibility rules. “The YVA defines an album as having no less than five different tracks,” the Your View Awards said in a statement. Several other local acts who have done well in dancehall and reggae over the past year have received nominations including Spice, Shenseea, Mavado, Chronixx, Sean Paul, and more. Popcaan and Aidonia each have four nominations including nods in some of the same categories as Alkaline which means that the three of them are going head to head against each other for some of the most coveted trophies. Alkaline lead the list of nominees this year with six nods including Hottest Summer Song (Red Eye), Favorite Local and International artist, and other categorgies like Chart Topper and Collaboration. Alkaline, Popcaan, and Aidonia leads the 2018 Your View Awards nominees.
Dancehall fans have mixed reactions to the snub with some believes that the YVA took the right step, while others are saying its a move to silence the incarcerated deejay. Vybz Kartel gets a major snub from this year’s Your View Awards (YVA). So I guess them a try remove the bias now.” Kartel was the biggest winner at last year’s YVA awards. Alkaline leads the 2018 YVA nomination with six nods including Hottest Summer Song (Red Eye), Favorite Local Male Artist, Favorite International Local Artist, Favorite Dancehall Artist, Favorite Chart Topper, Favorite Video Concept (Afterall), and Favorite Collaboration (“Gyalis Pro” featuring Sean Paul). Popcaan and Aidonia trail Alkaline with four nominations each. “So they have to ban Vybz Kartel so that other artists like Alkaline can win such a shame on the YVA, what is an award show without the Worl’Boss, in a Addi voice,” one fan said. We will be publishing the full list of nominees soon, so stay tuned to Dancehallhiphop.com for more details on the 2018 YVA awards show. Naturally, Gazanation fans are in an uproar over the snub but Kartel will continue to get snub as long as he is behind bars, according to the eligibility rule changes. But one of the hottest deejays in dancehall over the past year, Vybz Kartel, did not get any nominations solely because of his incarcerations. The annual Jamaican awards show has rebranded for this year from Youth View Award to Your View Award. With the rebranding comes new rules which is at the center of contentions between the YVA and Vybz Kartel’s fans. To be eligible for nominations, artists must be able to perform at the event ceremony set for February 24. Related Posts

“Kartel did warn them say Poppy no loyal and them never listen to the Worl’Boss.”

Aidonia – Hot Tool Lyrics In this case, Popcaan and Masicka have no bad blood between each other hence he shouldn’t be frown upon for doing business with the Genahsyde. Sources with direct knowledge of both deejay’s inner circle told us on Friday that tensions have been brewing between them from just before the holidays after Popcaan signed a deal with Corey Todd’s new liquor venture Crysp Vodka. “He felt like Unruly sellout just because of money, no loyalty, it’s like these guys are so easy to switch just because of money,” sources said. The Unruly Boss and the 4th Genna leader have been close friends for years and regularly supported each other’s events and often performed on the same shows. Popcaan and Aidonia have reportedly fallout and Masicka has everything to do with it. Dancehall politics has always been a complicated space, and let’s not forget these are still rumors, there may very well be no issues between Aidonia and Popcaan. But our sources insist there are some tensions between the two camps at the moment. Masicka is also one of the faces of the vodka brand and we all know Aidonia’s longstanding beef with the Genahsyde deejay. If Aidonia and Popcaan does have some sort of falling out over the Unruly Boss’ business deal with an enemy of Donia, then that represents something fundamentally flawed in dancehall. Artists are supposed to be free to make business deals of their own liking and disc jockeys should be allowed to play every artists music. Sources are saying that Aidonia wasn’t too happy when Popcaan made a deal with his enemies despite it being strictly business.
Clef is currently in Jamaica for the upcoming Shaggy and Friends benefit concert this weekend in Kingston. “This is what I want kids to understand, the music business is a 360, when you coming in now create a brand, do not be just an artist no more, become a brand,” he said. Clef said that the whole investigation was a smear campaign to take down his presidential bid. Wyclef Jean also spoke about his new album Carnival 3, going on tour next year, and his presidential bid for Haiti. Related Posts

The former Fugee frontman spoke at length about Caribbean artists talent and their need to understand the music business fully in order to push their careers to the top. But before he graced the stage, he had a sit down with Winford Williams on OnStage where he opened up about local talents and the heavy usage of reggae/dancehall in mainstream music currently. “Do you know why I like Vybz Kartel so much,” Wyclef said. The entire interview was well received with the music icon opening up about a lot of topics. He started out by clearing up some rumors about his foundation Yele Haiti after a New York-based state attorney conducted an investigation over financial irregularities. Despite the heavy sampling of Jamaican music by international acts, very few local artists are making it to the mainstream like Shaggy and Sean Paul did. Wyclef Jean is a big fan of Vybz Kartel and here is why he has so much respect for the incarcerated dancehall icon.

The two are currently working on their albums due early next year. One of the first thing he did when he returned home was to visit Vybz Kartel and sources told us that it was the incarcerated deejay’s request to have Kingston visit him over at GP to discuss some business, as well as, some big plans for 2018. Sean Kingston paid Vybz Kartel a visit in prison recently and came back with a message from the Worl’Boss. “Just went to pay the Wurlboss [Vybz Kartel] another visit… di teacher is in goodfaith with a lot of great plans for #2018 Big up di link @sikka_rymes for the invitation.”
While he didn’t revealed the exact plans that Kartel has for the new year, sources told us that he is planning to drop a new album as well as a ton of new music. The reggae pop singer recently concluded his tour overseas and returned to Jamaica just in time for Christmas to spend the holidays in his homeland with his family. “2018 will be bigger and better just stay tune its total domination from the Wor’Boss boss it ago sick.”
This is the second visit Sean Kingston made to Vybz Kartel in prison this year following his first visit in March.

Alkaline Disses Tony Matterhorn To His Face For Playing Vybz Kartel Music
Alkaline Rise Up The “Helter Skelter” Prod.
“Adi’Anna n Mommy me choose.. The dancehall star wore all-white for the occasion while rocking a beard. Love my Prinny #1MoreTime,” Kartel wrote on Instagram in the caption of a photo of himself and his daughter. Kartel had a lot of time on his hands yesterday and used it to respond to Alkaline and Tony Matterhorn beef where he trolled the Vendetta deejay for dissing the veteran selector for playing Kartel music at his birthday party in Florida last weekend. His eldest daughter and other members of his family came and visited him at GP. Vybz Kartel shows off his Christmas gifts which includes a couple pairs of Desert Clarks and a visit from his daughter. The Worl’Boss posted photos of some of his unique Desert boots on Instagram last week which arrived at GP just in time for Christmas. One of Kartel’s biggest singles of his career is his 2009 mega hit “Clarks” and his love for the iconic show brand has not changed despite seeing him rocking Jordans in prison recently. Some of his fans made fun of his struggling afro which stirred up rumors that he is going rasta. Vybz Kartel laced up his new kicks on Monday for a holiday family visit.
So me do the better thing and be the bigger man.”
The long and the short of it, Tony Matterhorn is saying he made a conscious decision to de-escalate the situation because if he had retaliated then the headlines would have been much different and fans would’ve looked at him in a bad light for beating up the young dancehall deejay. “Yo a pu**y for that wa yo just do,” he told the disc jockey in front of his face on stage. Matterhorn has since gone on Instagram live to explain why he never retaliate at the time and fortunately he didn’t because things could have ended badly for both sides. “You understand because remember say unnu know say me is a sick blood**** individual, and you know Alkaline and him friends them can’t diss Matterhorn… It’s all about the music and the music is bigger than any one of us. The veteran sound system selector was grossly disrespected by young dancehall gunner Alkaline last week Friday at the Vendetta deejay’s birthday bash at Club Euro in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. “When you reach my age you try tone down certain things,” TM said. Tony Matterhorn fans have been going off on social media with some calling him a coward for letting the “Champion Boy” deejay disrespected him like that on stage in front his face. “Alkaline just make himself look bad, me no look bad, you make yourself look like you have a problem with Vybz Kartel,” Matterhorn added. Alka got upset when Matterhorn, who was the designated deejay, started playing Vybz Kartel songs at the party. He also said that he wasn’t the one who played the Vybz Kartel song and named Dutty Dex as the disc jockey behind the stunt. Tony Matterhorn is making it clear that he is not a coward. But in defense of the disc jockey, Alkaline had his goons right there with him and one of them look like he was ready to pop things off right there and then.
The self-proclaim Worl’Boss is upset with Di Genius who previewed one of his songs on social media over the weekend. You no have no shame dawg. The two never made peace since then. Vybz Kartel offload some shade on producer Stephen ‘Di Genius’ McGregor. Weh ya release dem old song de fa? The preview ignited Gazanation fans who thinks that the two of them made peace, but now we know that is not the case. While the dancehall deejay didn’t name drop Stephen ‘Di Genius’ McGregor, his fans them immediately recognized who he was making references towards. SMFH,” Kartel wrote on Instagram. The dancehall producer has not responded despite being tagged by several fans regarding the post. “Producer bwoy me and you a friend? Kartel and Di Genius had a falling out back in 2009 after the two worked together on a series of hit songs. The title of the song is “Murda Practice” and it features Vybz Kartel’s old flow from before his incarceration in 2011.
What’s up with that?”
“Jamaica Justice system is really a man murder him babymother & dump r body Inna gutter get 15yrs & it caught on camera.. If so why is he not in prison for life? Ninjaman felt like he was given an unfair trial and vow to appeal, but in Jamaica as evident with Vybz Kartel case, appeals could take several years to even get a hearing in Jamaica. During his sentencing hearing, Dancehall Queen Carlene, and dancehall artist Stacious, gave character testimony on behalf of the deejay but that wasn’t enough to sway the judge. Fans have since been weighing in on the sentencing with some calling it harsh while others think it didn’t go far enough. Dancehall fans have mixed reaction to Ninjaman life sentence. The harsh penalty was handed down in the Home Circuit Court in Kingston on Monday (December 18, 2017) following his murder conviction on November 20th, nearly a month prior. “That’s why crimes and the law is not being taken seriously because people are being handed lenient sentences for heinousness crimes,” one fan wrote on social media while another added, “Did he not commit murder? And the other two as well? A man say him saw Ninjaman kill a man Ninja get life imprisonment ..what kind a justice system we have a Jamaica @andrewholnessjm d system wah scrap,” one fan who supports Ninjaman vents. Ninjaman will be serving his life sentence at the same prison where Vybz Kartel is currently housed, GP.
“So boring at the top yawn,” Kartel added on IG. In case you have been living in a cake for the past few days, Alkaline stepped to Tony Matterhorn on stage last Friday night during his birthday party at Club Euro in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Vybz Kartel seems to be having a field day with the development and has since sound off on Instagram about it. Matterhorn was playing mostly Alkaline and his allies music all night, but then music start coming from Tommy Lee Sparta, Popcaan, and then a Vybz Kartel song was the straw that broke the camel’s back. The Vendetta deejay never responded to those accusations, but Kartel and his fans are not letting up on the claims. “WHAT’S A PARTY WITHOUT VYBZKARTEL MUSIC?? DWBCL,” Kartel wrote in his IG bio before adding, “How does it feel being labelled a photo copy artiste? Vybz Kartel is trolling Alkaline on Instagram for dissing Tony Matterhorn last weekend. Guess i’ll never know, dwfl.”

Last year, Alkaline received some backlash from some dancehall fans for allegedly copying Vybz Kartel image and style. The “Champion Boy” deejay was furious and made his way onto the stage with his goons to confront TM and told him to his face that he is a pu**y for pulling off the stunt. The veteran sound system selector was the main disc jockey at the birthday bash which saw thousands of Vendetta fans turned out for the event.
The song was released in September and has since clocked over 8 million combined views on YouTube. The concept of the single inspired a massive surge in sales of Suppligen, oats, peanuts, Guinness, and other related products used to make a popular punch in Jamaica. Vybz Kartel scored one of the biggest dancehall hits of the year with “Mhm Hm” and now the song got its own mobile game. Vybz Kartel hit song “Mhm Hm” is showing no signs of slowing down. Last week an android mobile game popped up on the Google Play store and its growing in popularity after Vybz Kartel fans started sharing it on social media. Some local grocery shots have even started selling “Mhm Hm” packages which consist of all the ingredients prepackaged. Sources inside the Gazanation told us that Kartel is not behind the app and he himself is interested in knowing who is behind it. The app is titled “Mhm Buck Up Inna” and features a character with Kartel’s face that you can use to go through stages of the game and catch different items for points including the items he deejay about in the song such as suppligen, peanut, and oats. Some fans have been inquiring if Vybz Kartel is behind the mobile app, but so far the anonymous creator has not come forward.

The video clip below gives you a preview of the showdown and you can see one of Alkaline goons standing next to Tony Matterhorn looking like he was ready to brawl with the veteran selector. Sources told us that the veteran sound system selector was playing music from several different dancehall acts including some who has beef with “Suave” deejay like Tommy Lee Sparta and Popcaan. Our source say things took a turn for the worst when Matterhorn played a Vybz Kartel song and that’s when Alkaline and a few of his goons made their way on stage and took the microphone. A post shared by DancehallHipHop (@dancehallhiphop) on Dec 17, 2017 at 12:27pm PST
#alkaline goons was ready to put paws #tonymatterhorn? Matterhorn was the designated disc jockey at Alkaline’s birthday bash at Club Euro in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, on Friday night. Thankfully cooler heads prevailed and things didn’t ended badly. Alkaline and his goons almost put paws on Tony Matterhorn for playing Vybz Kartel music. The show was a huge success for Alkaline and his team and now sources inside his circle are telling us that it will likely be an annual event going forward. The venue was jam packed to maximum capacity with Vendetta fans pouring in to see the young dancehall deejay.
We’re told that Kartel was always a rasta at heart and the new bearded face and growing hair is just him switching things up with his image. The incarcerated dancehall star posted a new photo of himself taken recently. Vybz Kartel switching up his image once again. Kartel has a number of singles bubbling on dancehall airwaves locally and overseas currently including “Mhm Hm,” “Watch Over Us,” “Kremlin,” “All Aboard,” “So Easy,” and more. Some fans have been questioning if Vybz Kartel is the one running his Instagram account, but now our ever so reliable sources inside his circle confirmed this summer that he is the one running his Instagram page with the help of his manager. If you’re an hardcore follower of Vybz Kartel then you would know that he switches up his image ever so often and prison will not stop him from doing what he always does. “Yesterday..”DEM A WONDER HOW MI DO DIS….BUT AS MI LOCKS GET LONGER HEATHEN HEART IT A TWIST,” he captioned the photo. On Friday night, he abruptly uploaded a photo of himself on Instagram sending the Gazanation into a frenzy. Kartel always find ways to connect with his fans and keep them entertained despite being incarcerated for the past six years.
Sources inside Kartel’s circle told Dancehall HipHop that he was tapped for a guest feature on the soundtrack for the upcoming season of Power. The self proclaimed Worl’Boss has been dominating the airwaves this year with a flurry of new music. Vybz Kartel fuels rumors about some upcoming work with 50 Cent’s Power. Despite being behind bars since 2011, Vybz Kartel found a way to stay even more relevant than most other dancehall artists who are currently active. This month alone he is dropping five new singles, he recently announced. “I can’t divulge too much of what is happening behind the scenes but we might be doing some work with Power for the soundtrack,” sources told us. The “Mhm Hm” deejay is currently in prison on a life sentence, but next year July he will have a chance to secure his freedom when his appeal trial is set to get underway. Last weekend he posted some images from the Power poster on his Instagram while hinting that there are things happening behind the scenes between himself and the producers of the hit TV show. Its been a phenomenal years once again for Kartel in dancehall despite his incarceration. We’re also told that Kartel is working on an upcoming album due next year.
This year he scored a handful of hits including some big collaborations with Ishawna and Vybz Kartel, “InfraRed.” The deejay received some backlash earlier this year for his “InfraRed” music video which portrays the robbery of an armored vehicle full of money and plenty high powered guns. Masicka premiered the video for “10 Outta 10” last week and released two new singles last months. “Genahsyde me see man a buy gun and them no have the heart / From me dog fi bark ready fi walk the walk / Go squeeze the trigger then ago start the sparks / Push a knife a yo neck and it no affi sharp,” the Genahsyde leader spits. Masicka new song “Kill Quick” is a direct message to his enemies. The dancehall deejay serves up his latest gangsta anthem “Kill Quick,” produced by Jay Crazyie Records. Listen Masicka new song “Kill Quick.”
This is the second video from the incarcerated deejay over the past few days and sources inside the Gaza told us that they have a bunch of new visuals to drop before the Christmas holiday festivities. The cut was directed by Damaniac Visualz and features a number of smoking hot Spanish chicks showing off their banging body while parting to Kartel’s music. He and his three co-accused were sentenced to life and he was given 35 years before being eligible for parole. The aced dancehall star has been behind bars since 2011 and was convicted of murder in 2014. Despite his incarceration, Vybz Kartel manages to remain at the top of dancehall thanks to his work ethics. Vybz Kartel’s appeal trial was recently pushed back to July 9th, 2018 after his legal team requested more time to prepare for the case. Over the last three months alone he released more than two dozens new songs. Vybz Kartel new single “Watch Over Us” is a huge hit in the Latin market and now we have the visuals.
Vybz Kartel quietly disses Popcaan on his new song “How” and barely anyone noticed. During an interview back in July in the UK, Popcaan opened up about the hate that he has been getting from Vybz Kartel and the rest of the Gazanation fan base which makes up more than half the dancehall fans population in his opinion. “That is why if Vybz Kartel hate Popcaan today I will forever be on top because I learn that from him.” In one of his recent songs, Kartel accused the Unruly Boss of stealing some of his styles and now on this new Dunwell Productions-produced single, he calls him bad mind. Poppy also said that he learned from the hate that he has been experiencing and that is helping him stay on top. “Since I’ve been around Vybz Kartel like a lot of people use to hate Vybz Kartel but he stayed on top and I learn that from him,” Popcaan explains. “Judas by time you say a who that / Back fly go Cuba, wat time now Muller / Time fi you stop watch man give thanks for what you have / Red eye will blind yo or make man wine yo / How yo fi badmind yo friend wa the bloodclat do them… / Cut them off like Gillette / How yo fi badmind yo friend unni fi move and go weh / Give them a spinners with six shots Russian Roulette / Bout yo rate me yo no rate me talk yo a talk / But mi naan hear nutten just blah blah blah,” Vybz Kartel deejay over a dancehall beat. Recently, the Gazanation deejay has been quietly taking shots his former protege Popcaan who he previously ousted as being a disloyal member of the Gaza over his alignment with Drake. This is the second song that Kartel released this week after dropping a new joint dedicated to his mother on Monday. In the lyrics, Kartel is saying that Popcaan badmind (envy) him for the things he achieved and then always talk about how much he rates (respect) Vybz Kartel, but now him Kartel stop listening to all of that and sees him for what he really is, badmind and disloyal.
Alkaline may have stopped skin bleaching and dancehall fans are giving him two thumbs up. You can say “black alkaline, tattoo alkaline, bleach alkaline” it all happened in the same week.”
Alkaline started bleaching around 2014 when his career just started to blow up. We now learn that his skin bleaching was not permanent since the below video shows that he is getting back black. Here is a photo of Alkaline taken last month. Some of his fans quickly noticed that he looked a lot darker than he did recently. There are some recently speculations that his skin bleaching remedy may have poisoned his body and has resulted in his hospitalization a few times since his incarceration. “Alka a turn back black them dead ya now general,” one fan wrote, while another added, “Can’t even break down Alkaline progression. Vybz Kartel is another dancehall artist famous for skin bleaching but his procedure seems like a more permanent solution since he has maintained his lightness six years after being in prison. The Vendetta boss posted a video on Instagram last night promoting an upcoming show in New Jersey. Since then we’ve learned that his tattoo eyeball was fake and that he was wearing contacts as part of a scheme to fool his fans.
The first female artist to achieve that success was Lauryn Hill in 1998. Bardi also regularly post videos of herself vibing Vybz Kartel songs. The “Bodak Yellow” rapper was in Jamaica last week to shoot a music video for a song with Rvssian and reggaeton artist Ozuna. Cardi B posted a screenshot of a post Vybz Kartel made on Instagram last month giving her a big shoutout. Kartel is currently awaiting his appeal trial in February next year and he is also working on an upcoming project, due early next year. Vybz Kartel continues to make his mark on dancehall six years after his incarceration. “I can cry @vybzkartel is my favorite artist of all time Me and my friends teenagehood was all about dancing to @vybzkartel #FreeVybz,” she wrote. Tweet
No it’s not Offset, Cardi B calls Vybz Kartel her favorite artist of all time. Cardi B is the biggest success story in hip hop this year thanks to her breakout hit single “Bodak Yellow (Money Moves).” The song peaked at No. @vybzkartel is my favorite artist of all time .Me and my friends teenagehood was all about dancing to @vybzkartel !!! 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart making her the second woman in history to top the chart with a solo record. Offset shouldn’t be jealous because he gets to sleep next to her. The former Love and Hip Hop New York star is currently working on her debut album. It’s no secret that Cardi B is a huge dancehall fan and Vybz Kartel represents the pinnacle of the genre so it’s no surprise either that he is her favorite artist. #FreeVybz @hennessycarolina @hoodcelebrityy @lovelyyliliam
A post shared by Cardi B Official IG (@iamcardib) on Nov 3, 2017 at 8:39pm PDT I can cry? Over the last two months alone, he has released enough music to make two albums and almost all of his new singles have been hits in the dancehall space. There are already rumors of a collaboration with Vybz Kartel in the works and that was likely orchestrated by Rvssian.
“I can cry @vybzkartel is my favorite artist of all time Me and my friends teenagehood was all about dancing to @vybzkartel #FreeVybz,” she wrote. She didn’t mention the new collaborative single, but what artist don’t want to work with their idol. Rvssian and Vybz Kartel are again working on new music. Over the weekend, Cardi B wrote on Instagram that Vybz Kartel is her favorite artist of all time. The “Bodak Yellow” rapper was in Jamaica last week to shoot a music video for the famed producer but seems that was not all she did in reggae land. There were some rumors floating around claiming that she visited Vybz Kartel in prison, but sources told us that did not happen. Instead, she spends some time at GeeJam villa where there is a studio and record some new music. Tweet
Vybz Kartel and Cardi B dropping a new collaboration, producer Rvssian confirmed. The incarcerated deejay has cranked up the dial in the past two months by releasing a flurry of new singles including “Mhm Hm,” “Don’t Come Back,” and “Kremlin.”

A post shared by DancehallHipHop (@dancehallhiphop) on Nov 3, 2017 at 3:50pm PDT Last week the longtime collaborators released the new hit single “Kremlin” featured on the producer’s new project, Moscow Riddim.
Vybz Kartel drop three music videos this weekend but perhaps the most anticipated of all of them is “Mhm Hm.”
The single went viral following its released last month and triggered a massive sales boast for oatmeal, peanuts and Suppligen in Jamaica, that’s the power of Vybz Kartel. “Mhm Hm” received close to 3.5 million views on YouTube in the first month of being released, clocking roughly 1 million views per week. He also released another video for his single “Don’t Come Back.”
Vybz Kartel received some criticisms over the summer from some dancehall fans for not releasing enough new music. Now that he has responded to fans plea for more new material, they can’t get enough. Since round the end of the summer this year, Kartel released more than a dozen new singles, but this is a fan favorite. The cut was directed by Dameon Gayle of Terminal 4 Media.
“One don one don that’s me / Kartel, Worl’ Boss or Teach / Run street whether black or bleach,” he rhymes. So Beenie Man already takes the king title and Bounty Killer takes the general title. Now it’s all about the “one don.” Kartel released a new single “Don’t Come Back” where he not only rip his baby mama but also proclaim himself as the don. While Alkaline and Vybz Kartel fights over the dancehall “donship” title, Popcaan is choosing his side and natural he sided with the Gazanation don. Tweet
Popcaan is once again making his feelings towards Alkaline be known. The Unruly Boss took some shots at his dancehall rival over the weekend referring to him as a “wanna be don.” “So f***ing unruly Nuh Likkle wanna be don can’t fool me #outside,” Poppy wrote. It didn’t take long after the song’s release for Alkaline to post on IG calling himself “1 Don.” Now it’s Popcaan’s turn to say something, and while he didn’t bestow the title onto himself, he basically said Vybz Kartel is the true don, not surprisingly. In case you were off the grid for a good minute, last week Alkaline and Vybz Kartel went buck heads while proclaiming themselves to be the don of dancehall.
Listen to the new single “Energy” below. Masicka has been having a phenomenal year with a number of hit records this year. TweetShare
Masicka is getting his “Energy” up before the new year because he is planning to conquer dancehall in 2018. The Genahsyde deejay teams with J1 Production for his latest dancehall banger “Energy.” “Spliff a light the energy right / Gal a whine so the energy bright / Money nuff so the energy right / And we no new to this, we do it every night / Guns deh ya so the energy right,” Masicka deejay. He also got some attention for a few diss records aimed at Aidonia, but that beef never materialized because the 4thGenna deejay decided not to engaged Masicka. He also scored one of dancehall’s biggest single this year “InfraRed” a collaboration with Vybz Kartel.
